GRANT OPPORTUNITY

The Jewish Helping Hands Foundation (JHH), in partnership with the Union For Reform Judaism (URJ), is accepting applications for 25 social action projects proposed by Reform Jewish teens.

Goal
To encourage and support Reform Jewish teens to identify needs in their local communities and to design and complete projects to meet them in active partnership with JHH and URJ.

Grants
In each of the next four years, beginning in early 2022, JHH will make 25 one-time grants of up to $1000 each to 25 Jewish teenagers to use in completion of their social action projects. Each awarded project shall be able to be completed within 5 months from the time of award.

Application
On-line proposals should be completed by the teen in consultation with the local adult advisor* of their choosing.

They must be received by the December 31st deadline.

Grantees will be notified by February, 2022.
All projects must be completed by June, 2022.

Criteria
JHH is seeking to support projects that:

  • determine and assess the needs of vulnerable, neglected populations within the local community;

  • involve others in the process of addressing these unmet needs;

  • include a process for measuring and evaluating the outcomes;

  • describe the Jewish values behind it;

  • create a path for longer term amelioration of these needs;

  • use the grant money in an efficient and effective manner.
